Happy New Year!!

Enää vajaa tunti ja täällä vaihtuu vuosi. Tämä vuosi on kyllä ollut .. no, ei varmastikaan minun suosikkivuosi, joten kiva jättää se taakse. Toivon että vuosi 2008 tulee olemaan aivan mahtava. Haluan paljon naurua, onnellista oloa ja varsinkin onnistumisen riemua. On aika uskaltaa jättää omat pelot taakse ja mennä elämässä eteenpäin. Nyt pitää alkaa tutkimaan mitä kaikkea sitä itsestä löytyykään. Vuosi 2007 kyllä osoitti että minussa on voimaa paljon enemmän kuin olisin ikinä uskonut.

Just a bit under an hour to go and the year will change. This year has been... well, certainly not one of my favourites, so I am happy to leave it behing. I hope that the year 2008 will be absolutely super. I want a lot of laughter, feeling happy and especially joy of succeeding. It is time to dare to leave all my fears behind and move forward in life. I want to start really looking into myself and find out what is there. Year 2007 showed me that I have a lot more strength than I ever knew.

Vieläkään ei uusia kuvia blogiin. Haluttaisi askarrella ihan älyttömästi mutta kun istahdan pöydän ääreen, pää menee ihan tyhjäksi. Ei kertakaikkiaan ole minkäänlaista ideaa minkä voisi toteuttaa. Tulee vain paha mieli. No, pikkuhiljaa.. aina se sieltä löytyy kuitenkin vaikka vähän pitäisi odotella. Harmittaa silti kun olisi vaikka mitä kivoja uusia leimasimiakin ja muita värkkejä.. iiiiiik!!!!! No, aion joka päivä istahtaa sinne hetkeksi ja kokeilla että jos jotakin tulisi mieleen. Mutta jos ei oikein kuvia tänne tule, niin älkää ihmetelkö.

Still no new pictures here. I so so so badly want to be crafty but when I sit down at my desk, my mind just goes blank. I have no ideas whatsoever. I just end up feeling down. Oh well.. bit by bit. I know that the mood does come back even if I have to wait for it a bit sometimes. But I can't help but feel sad as I have so many gorgeous stamps and goodies to play with. eeek!!! Well, I am going to sit there a bit everyday and see if I start feeling better. But don't worry if there won't be photos here for a while.

..joten joulusta on selvitty. Eipä täällä kyllä sitä joulutunnelmaa saa ollenkaan, joten jouluaattokin tuntuu ihan normaalilta päivältä.. täällä tuli vielä postikin jouluaattona!! :)
Ihan mukavia lahjojakin sain. Äiti pelasti joulun ja laittoi tilille joulurahaa.. se tuli käytettyä tänään sillä laitoin kaksi pakettia tilaukseen... jiiiiihaaaa!!!! IIIIIHANIA askarteluherkkuja on pian tulossa. Onneksi kumpikin paketti tulee ihan Australiasta niin ei tarvitse odotella kauhean pitkään... paitsi jos kaupanpitäjät ovat lomalla. No, toisessa ei ainakaan ole. Minkähän laitteen minä olen tilannut? Jätän lukijat arvailemaan. hih! :)

...so i did survive Christmas. No that it feels like xmas here.. ever :(. I hate it that even xmas eve feels like just another normal day.
I got some nice presents. My mom saved the xmas and put some xmas money onto my account. I spent it all today *grin*. Yippee!!! I will receive some GOOOOORGEOUS crafty goodies in the mail soon. Fortunately both packages will be coming from within Australia, so I won't have to wait for them forever.. unless both shopkeepers are on holiday. hmmm.. ok, at least one won't be. Wondering what machine I have ordered? I will leave you guessing :). *smile*

~xmas journal, day 9~

Jee!!! Sain tekaistua tänään toisenkin sivun, mutta en ehtinyt laittaa sitä tänne aiemmin. Käytiin nimittäin elokuvissa.. minä, Pauli ja Paulin vanhemmat. Käytiin vihdoinkin katsomassa se uusin Bourne elokuva. Ihme, että sitä vieläkin näytettiin. Oi että se oli superhyvä! tykkään kaikista kolmesta elokuvasta. Elokuva katsottiin Kultaluokassa (Gold Class). Sinne liput maksaa enemmän mutta siellä istutaan nojatuoleissa joita voi säätää miten haluaa ja sinne voi tilata ruokaa mikä tuodaan sitten elokuvan aikana.. milloin vain sen haluaa :). Minä söin kanaa ja sen jälkeen teetä ja kakkusen. NAM NAM NAM! Kivaa oli. Olikin tosi hienoa käydä elokuvissa pitkästä aikaa!

Noniin, mutta takaisin tuohon sivuun. Siitä tulikin aika helppo. Otin vain palasen jokaista paperia ja lisäsin pari tarraa ja siirtokuvan. jee! :) Nyt vain sitten seuraavan sivun kimppuun taas :)

Yippee! I got another page made today. Just couldn't upload it earlier as I went to the movies with Paul and his parents. We finally sent to see the latest Bourne film. I was surprised that they were still showing it. I looooved it! i love all three films. they are super and always exciting to watch. I love movies where something happens all the time. We made the movie visit special by going to Gold Class where you sit in veeery comfy armchairs and you can order food. I had chicken and asparagus first and towards the end I enjoyed tea and sticky date pudding. Yum! It was great to go to movies as I hadn't seen anything in ages.

Ok, back to the page. I just punched a piece of each new Love, Elsie paper and added a couple of stickers and a rub on. Time to get going with the next page. Plenty of catching up to do!

Vihdoinkin sivu johon olen tyytyväinen.. no, ei ihmekään, sillä tykkäsinhän noista joulukorteistakin :).

Finally a page that I like.. no wonder, as I did like my xmas cards made like this :).

Recipe:
Paper is by Autumn Leaves, I am pretty sure. I love that paper. It is so so gorgeous and sparkly. Stamps are Sassafras Lass (Oliver and Friends). Colouring was done with SU markers (they are fantastic!!! If you happen to be interested in ordering some, get in touch by emailing me at askartelu75@gmail.com). Hat was cut from SU cardstock (whisper white and real red). I did the journaling with a SU journaling pen. Hyvaa joulua was stamped with Karen Foster snap stamps.

Hyvänen aika että minä olen jäljessä näiden sivujen kanssa. Nyt on jo 20.12. ja tämä on minun viimeisin sivu. käääääääk! No, onneksi olen joka päivä vähän kirjoitellut ylös että mitä sitä onkaan tullut tehtyä. jee! Tämä sivu alkoi hienosti mutta sitten meni aivan pieleen. No, mitä sitä pienistä :).

Goodness me how behind I am with my pages. Today is already the 20th and this is the last page I have done. eeeeeek! Oh well, at least I have been writing a little bit everyday so i will remember what I have done. yay! This page started so well, but then.. ended up looking awful. Oh well :). Not stressing about it one bit :).

~xmas journal, day 5 and 6~

Oli kiva tehdä sitten välillä ihan erivärinen sivu kun tuntuu että nuo kaikki edelliset ovat olleet aika normaaleja jouluvärejä eli punainen ja vihreä. Tulipa siitä mieleen että kerran eka tai tokaluokalla puhuttiin eri vuodenaikojen väreistä. Minulta kysyttiin talven väriä ja minä sanoin että sininen. Taisin olla jo silloin vähän erilainen. Oikea vastaus open mielestä oli punainen. höpö höpö! Oli kiva leikeillä noita pieniä lumihiutaleitakin tälle sivulle. hih!

It was nice to make a page using different colours for a change. I feel that all the other pages so far have been just red and green. I got in my head a memory from years ago when I was in first or second grade. We were talking about colours of each season. The teacher then asked me about the colour of Winter. I said blue. I think i was a bit different already then :). Teacher said that the right answer was red. yeah, right *sigh*. Oh, it was lovely to cut those little snowflakes for this page :)

Recipe:
regular white copy paper for snowflakes, white gel pen for journaling, stickers from MM fetti sheet, Stickles diamond glitter glue (my FAVOURITE glitter glue for sure!), basic Grey paper as background (can't remember the name but I am pretty sure it is from the Blush series), SU white inkpad (smudged the background paper with it a bit), glue pen and Foilz for 'day 5'

Here is day 3 of my xmas diary. I don't really like it, but well, at least it is another page ready :)

stickers: Love Elsie 'Noel' series, just like the little heart rub on
other: twinking h2o (can't remember the colour) which I used to colour over the list to give it a bit more colour, some pretty green gems as well

Tässä pari ensimmäistä sivua minun joulupäiväkirjassa. Eli tästä tulee tosiaan ihan sellainen päiväkirja eli sivut ei todellakaan ole mitään superdesignia. :) Oli ihan kiva päästä alkuun näiden kanssa mutta monta sivua on kyllä vielä tehtävänä.. huh huh. joo, kukahan lie teki tuon koko 2.päivän sivun valmiiksi ennenkuin muisti että siinähän reunassa pitää olla reiät. murh. Siinä lähti sitten piparineidolta pää pois. Voi hitsi.

Here are the first couple of pages of my christmas journal. It is definitely very much journal style, so no super design pages there :). It was so nice to get started, but I have so many pages to catch up now. +sigh+. Oh yes, I wonder who was silly enough to make that whole Day 2 page ready before remembering that there needs to be holes on the side. grr... Little Miss Gingerbrea biscuit lost her head. darn.

Tässä kuva minun lähellä olevasta iiiihanasta scrapbook kaupasta. Olin eilen siellä taas askartelemassa ja vihdoinkin näin omat korttini esillä. kääk!!! Voi että oli kyllä hieno tunne kun ne siellä näin. Olin ylpeä itsestäni :). Arvatkaa mitä? Joku oli varastanut yhden minun korteista!!! hyvänen aika :) Mutta, tottakai otin sen kohteliaisuutena.. jos joku on niin paljon tykännyt minun kortista että se piti aivan varastaa! Mutta varastaminen ei ole hyvä asia :(.

Here is a photo from lovely Scraptacular, which is my LSS. I was there all day yesterday again and I finally got to see my own cards on display. eek! I felt absolutely incredible when i saw them. I was so proud of myself :). But guess what? Somehas has stolen one of my cards!! Goodness me. Well, I did feel flattered, of course. :) Someone must have really liked the card to actually steal it! But stealing is not good. no no no.

Tässä on minun joulukirjan kansi nyt. Haluttaisi vielä jotakin lisätä, mutta taidan odotella muutaman päivän, koska se on kuitenkin jo aika täynnä. Joskus vain on sellainen olo että haluttaa lisäillä ja lisäillä.. ja sitten siinä onkin jo liikaa. iik!

Olen käyttänyt kannessa enimmäkseen Love, Elsie 'Noel' sarjaa. Siinä oli tosi kivoja papereita ja tykkään tosi paljon myös siirtokuvista ja tarroista. No, tarroissa on kyllä se huono puoli että niissä on tosi huono liima. plääh! Meinaavat irrota koko ajan :(. Punainen kartonki on Stampin' Upin Real red ja aakkoset on EK success. Hitsi että harmittaa kun tuosta kannen paperista tuli ihan ryppyinen.. en tasoittanut liimaa alla ollenkaan. Muistanpahan ensi kerralla sitten :)

Ainiin, kannen reunukset on töpötelty maalilla. Adirondack paint dabberillä.. värinä espresso. Tuli sellaiset kivat vähän kuluneen näköiset reunat.. ja helposti!!! jee!

Here is the cover of my xmas book. I would love to add something else, but I think I'd better wait for a couple of days and look at it again. Sometimes I just get that feeling that I want to add, add and add.. but then there ends up being too much. eeek!

I have used mainly Love, Elsie 'Noel' series stuff.. paper, rub ons and stickers. I loooove them. But I do have one complain.. the stickers don't stick well! grrr... They keep popping up and it drives me mad :(. The red cardstock is Stampin' Up and the alphabet Ek success. I am a bit upset that the paper on the cover ended up looking all wrinkly and ugly. I didn't do well with glue.. Oh well, i will remember next time :).

Oh yes, I did the cover edges with pain, Adirondack espresso paint dabber. It gave it a nice, a bit worn look. Those dabbers are so easy to use! yay!

Päätinpä laittaa tänne kuvan minun joulukorttien sisäsivustakin kun nyt sain ne vihdoinkin koristeltua ja kirjoitettua. Nyt ne vain odottavat vielä ukon nimeä.. saa kirjoittaa ne kun tulee töistä :). Tosi tyytyväinen kyllä olen. Käytin pienenä runona osaa UppoNallen joulurunosta :). Sen löysin kun pikaisesti googlasin jotakin joulurunoa.

There will be plenty of photos in this entry. *grin* Lots to show :). I received a package today! On a Sunday! eeek! I was sooo happy! *giggling* :) In it were the gorgeous Love, Elsie 'Noel' things, which I ordered earlier in the week. I wasn't going to get them first as I had nothing christmassy in mind. But then I decided to make a christmas book (got inspired by this blog).. I am going to make a page every day until Christmas. I have been writing down a couple of things each day and next week i am going to start working on the actual pages. Yay! Here are my xmas goodies:

Here are the papers I got.. I already feel like I need more.. eek! Ah, there is also one paper from the Zoe line as I had to get some more of that. I am going to use the green paper for my minibook cover. Love it! :)

Päätin laittaa tähän kuvan siitä kirjasesta mitä aion käyttää. Se on tosi kiva. Siinä on valmiina 8 chipboard levyä sivuina.. eli 16 sivua. Lisäsivut teen sitten ihan vain paperista. Tästä taitaa kyllä tulla superpaksu. kääk! Toivottavasti siitä ei tule ongelmaa. No, ei auta kuin antaa mennä vain.

I decided to put here a picture of the book which I am going to use. I think it is great. It has 8 chipboard sheets for pages so that covers 16 pages. I will make the extra pages just out of patterned paper. This might end up being really thick. eeek! I hope it won't be a problem. Oh well, I will just get going and see how it turns out.

Juuh, ei hyvin mene... joulukortit on vieläkin kirjoittamatta. Kääääk! Eli tietenkin ovat lähettämättäkin. No, maanantaina ne lähtee matkaan, kävi miten kävi! :) Sekin on parempi entä viime jouluna, kun en lähettänyt edes yhtä korttia. hih!

No, mutta sain torstaina postissa tämän leimasimen (stampendous). Näin se eräässä blogissa ja ihastuin siihen ihan täysillä ja sehän oli sitten pakko saada. Ensi jouluna varmasti käytän tuota enemmänkin, mutta päätin tekaista nyt sillä pari korttia :). Valikoin vähän erilaisia värejä (paperit on Arctic Frog) tähän korttiin. Ihan kiva siitä minusta kuitenkin tuli! :)

*sigh* Not doing so well... I still haven't written my xmas card. Eeek! And that means, of course, that I also still haven't mailed them either. Oh well, I will mail them on Monday, no matter what. Even that is better than last xmas when i didn't send any cards at all! *smile*

Oh well, anyway, on Thursday I received this gorgeous stamp (stampendous) in the mail. I saw it in a blog and totally fell in love with it and had to find one for myself. I am sure that I will use it a lot next xmas, but I just had to make a couple of card with it now as well. I decided to use a bit different colours (used Arctic Frog papers) and I like it! :) I am going to make a couple more with different papers as well.

Oooh yes, how lucky was this.. this card is perfect for the daring cardmakers challenge :).

~my first xmas ornament~

Jippii! Tässä on minun ensimmäinen itse tekemä joulukoriste.. siis kouluaikojen jälkeen ensimmäinen. Niitä ei vain ole tullut tehtyä! Ja en ole tainnut ikinä ommella huovasta mitään, joten olin tosi tyytyväinen tähän! jeee!!! Olisin halunnut laittaa nappeja koristeeksi, mutta eipä sattunut olemaan sopivanvärisiä, joten jätin paljaaksi sitten. Se oli tosi helppo ja nopea tehdä. Sisällä on pumpulia :). Näitä pitäisi tehdä vielä muutama lisää ja laitan ne johonkin sitten roikkumaan.. kuusta meillä ei varmaankaan ole.

Yippee! Here is my first selfmade xmas ornament... first one since schooldays, that is. Just haven't made any. I have also never sewn anything of felt before, so I was totally chuffed with myself when I managed to finish this. Yay! I would have wanted to decorate it with buttons, but didn't have any nice ones, so I decided to be happy with a plain tree. It was so easy and quick to make. I filled it with cotton wool :). I am going to make a couple more of these and will then hang them somewhere. I doubt we will have a tree.

Tässä kuva meidän takaovesta. Päätin että tänä vuonna teemme jotakin edes jouluksi. Eipä ole kiinnostanut parina vuonna tehdä yhtään mitään, koska eipä tällaiset hellesäät oikein joululta tunnu... Minä sitten eilen ajattelin että tehdään lumihiutaleita ikkunaan.. no, ne meni sitten tosiaan takaoveen, mutta kuitenkin. Pauli ei ollut ikinä ennen leikannut lumihiutaleita. Minusta se oli niin hassua kun suomessahan niitä leikataan jo esikoulussa. hih! No, eri maa, eri tavat. Hän kuitenkin tykkäsi siitä tosi paljon. Ja hienoja niistä tuli!!!

Here is a picture of our backdoor. I decided that this year we are actually going to do something for Christmas. I haven't had any interest in Christmas in the last two years as hot weather certainly doesn't put me in a xmas mood.. Well, yesterday I thought we should make some snowflakes for the window. Well, they ended up on the back door, but anyway. Paul had never cut snowflakes before. I thought it was so odd as in finland we start making them already in pre school. Different countries, different traditions. I mean, it is not like there is ever snow in Melbourne, so why would they cut snowflakes *grin*. He liked it a lot though and we both had fun. I think they look beautiful!

Jippiii!!! JIPPII!!!! jipppii!!! Oih, mikä ihana ilonpilkahdus minulle sattui eilen. Se olikin kyllä tarpeen koska viime aikoina on ollut sen verran vaikeaa. Viimeksi kun olin askartelemassa Scraptacular kaupassa, minua pyydettiin tekemään muutama kortti heille näytille. vaaaaau!!! En ollut ihan varma että olivatko he ihan tosissaan koska emme ehtineet asiasta puhua sitten sen enempää. Mutta nuo edellisessä posteissa olleet pöllökortit tein heille + pari vielä lisää. Kävin sitten siellä eilen ja kaupan omistaja ihastui niihin ihan täysin. Arvatkaa vain että minulle tuli hyvä mieli. Hän aikoi laittaa ne kaupan ikkunaan!!!! Iiiik! käääk!!!

Yippee! Yippee! Yippee!!! Oh, what a lovely bit of happiness I got yesterday. It was certainly needed as life has been quite hard lately. Last time when I was doing the crafty day at Scraptacular, they asked me to make a couple of sample cards for them for showing. wow! I wasn't sure if they were absolutely serious as we didn't have much time to talk then. Well, i made the owl cards for them + plus a couple more. I went there yesterday and the loooovely owner of the shop really loved them. I was so so so happy, I can't describe! She was going to put them to the shop window. Eeeeek!!!

Mutta sitten tapahtui jotakin vieläkin parempaa... sanoin hänelle että aion ostaa yhden Autumn Leaves setin ja teen silläkin muutaman kortin. Minun suureksi yllätykseksi hän antoi sen minulle ilmaiseksi. IIK! Arvaa että olin ihan onnessani! Ostin sitten muutaman uuden paperin mukaan ja nyt pitäisi tekaista muutamat kortit. Jee! Sain ensimmäinen nyt valmiiksi ja tässä se on. Ainiin, ensin kuva siitä itse leimasinsetistä.. eli kyseessä on Autumn Leaves Mindy's Zoo. Eikö olekin aivan ihana setti?

But then even something better happened... I got an Autumn Leaves stamp set for free!!! Yippee!!! I was so so so happy! I bought a couple of sheets of new paper and now I am going to make a couple of cards with those. Yippee! i just finished my first card and here it is. Oh yes, first I'd better put here a picture of the stamp set. it is Autumn Leaves Mindy's Zoo. Isn't it just gorgeous?
